Keela is delighted to support a local athletics team, Kingdom Athletic. Kingdom is a composite team, made up of 14-19 year old athletes from Fife and Dundee, and competes in the UK-wide Youth Development League, the main athletics league in the country for juniors.

This season Kingdom has successfully competed in the Northern Premier Division against clubs such as Gateshead and York and now, for the first time in its 15-year history, has qualified for the UK National Final in Birmingham on 3rd September. This is a huge achievement, and demonstrates the real dedication, hard work and team spirit shown by the athletes.

Kingdom includes athletes from a wide range of abilities and backgrounds, and encourages athletes with disabilities to take part in mainstream competition. The team is committed to supporting and developing the athletes and encouraging them to achieve the best they can - either to elite level, with the likes of Eilish McColgan and Laura Muir having competed for Kingdom, or to achieve personal bests at their level.

Kingdom also focuses on developing transferable life skills for the athletes such as increasing self confidence, developing peer support skills, learning to cope successfully in new and sometimes challenging environments and making new friends.
